Conference Games of the Week

We we'll take a look a biggest games this week in the Socon as we gear back up for Conference play (no particular order).

Thursday:

  • College of Charleston @ Wofford 7PM: The game features the two best teams in the Socon from South Carolina. Wofford (8-6, 1-1) is coming off a big-time win at Wake Forest and should be riding in with some confidence after a complete ball-game in Winston-Salem. College of Charleston (10-3, 2-0) has beaten a power six conference school of their own in Tennessee. While this game may not decided who wins the South, its a big time treat for Socon fans. The team that enforces their style of play should come out on top.

  • Georgia Southern @ Elon 7PM: Both teams are coming into the contest on a two-game winning streak. For Georgia Southern (4-8, 2-0) this game will test their worth among the conference elite with their flawless conference record. For Elon (7-6, 2-0) this game will be an opportunity to show their record is a good as it indicates. I really expect this to be closer than people expect.

Saturday:
  • Wofford @ Western Carolina 4:30PM: Wofford (8-6, 1-1) is featured twice this week with the second game coming in Cullowhee. Western (7-7, 2-0) will face a tall task with the team that ended their season a year ago. Wofford will be coming of the heels of an more than likely emotional game against Charleston. In order for WCU to pick up the W they will have to make every possession count and force Wofford's stars to play a full 40 minutes. The Catamounts won't be the only one with a tall task on Saturday. WCU is an extremely tough opponent at home and boast one the most impressive home court advantages in the conference. Over the last threes season WCU is 38-5 in the Ramsey center, including winning 27 of the last 31 Socon games in Cullowhee.
